πŸ› οΈ Technical Questions

πŸ§β€β™‚οΈ How many players can be in one zone?

At launch, each server shard or zone instance will support 100–200+ concurrent players, depending on activity density and server load.

As development progresses and funding goals are met, we plan to upgrade to a scalable, distributed infrastructure capable of supporting thousands of players across a persistent, seamless world, using a combination of:

  • Server clustering

  • Cross-instance synchronization

  • Load balancing for dynamic zone population

🧭 Will there be offline modes or solo play?

The Crownless is designed as a fully online, persistent-world MMORPG, but we recognize the value of solitude in a vast world.

Players who prefer solo experiences will still be able to:

  • Play alone within shared zones (exploration, crafting, survival, etc.)

  • Access low-density zones for narrative-driven or resource-focused gameplay

  • Participate in standalone mini-game modules (e.g., crafting simulator, economic tools) that don’t require full multiplayer activity

True offline play is not planned, but solo-compatible content is a priority for player freedom.

🧰 Will modding or community servers be supported?

Not at initial launch β€” our focus is on delivering a stable, immersive core experience first.

However, our long-term roadmap includes structured support for creators:

  • Custom map-building tools

  • Lore-consistent modding frameworks

  • Curated community servers or campaigns with licensed access to tools and assets

  • A future Creator Hub to support worldbuilders, storytellers, and system tinkerers

This will be rolled out carefully to preserve world integrity while empowering player creativity.
